Blog 21 Mentorship

Mentor ship log 56 hours
My main mentor was Jose Rocha a professor at Cal Poly Pomona and mentor in his classroom Building 43 room 107

My other mentor was Vanessa Gomez , an instructor Bikram yoga Rancho Cucomonga.

The two mentor ships were vastly different form each other the one with Jose Rocha dived in to my topic of maximal and sub-maximal loading. I did many different types of tests to show our overall strength and endurance. We did 1 rep max, VO2 max, and other test to gauge someone fitness more precise gauge of someones fitness. All the labs were being looked over by the professor but we preformed all of the labs ourselves the professor want the students to follow the particular steps on there own. The equipment varied form each test some were gauged by eye and some used equipment that exceeded $20,000 dollars. The class help further diagnose a person's relative fitness to properly treat the person like for physical therapy or sports science.

My other mentor ship showed me the business side of fitness and showed me how to run a small business and how to properly treat someone with a certain goal. The classes also helped me with my back problems which helped with my fitness overall.

The mentor ship has helped support my best answer of the neuromuscular health can be improved with strength training. These. These mentor ships have been eyeing opening and showed me the different aspects of fitness and how it needed to be balanced with gauging the body and relaxing the body and stretching how that can vastly improve your overall health.

1. How can strength training best help a person become healthy?
Strength training can help retain the neuromuscular system is my best answer. The neuromuscular system is the underlying factor of the body like poor health habits and muscular imbalances. The body can not effectively go though a full workout without the correct muscular imbalances
Your physiological system can benefit from strength training.
Strength training can benefit your overall physiological.
2. It was through the guidance of my mentors and the conformation  I have brought up from my research. The best evidence was from the kinesiology department from the University of Houston. They did some studies that involved subject to used resistance training to treat arthritis. I also found textual evidence from another studied that involved  softball players.
3.The biggest problem for me was finding mentor ship. What I did was to be persistence and make sure you do the right research to find the right mentor.
4.Villanueva , Matthew . INFLUENCE OF REST INTERVAL LENGTH IN BETWEEN SETS ON HORMONAL RESPONSES AND CHANGES IN BODY COMPOSITION, MUSCULAR STRENGTH, AND FUNCTIONAL PERFORMANCE DURING TWELVE WEEKS OF PERIODIZED RESISTANCE TRAINING IN OLDER MEN. 2013. Print.
SIENNA , PHILLIP. ONE REP MAX. INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA: BENCHMARK PRESS INC., 1989. 1-257. Print.
These two sources help me develop my answer because of the evidence theses two sources helped me practically visualize the body to help answer my essential question by giving an overall perspective of the body.

Blog 16 Advisory Meeting #2

Strength training should be a option to treat some psychological disorders?
Strength training has shown to help children deal with forms of  ADD and ADHD I made that connection from this article "Exercise: An Alternative ADHD Treatment". What I have also seen is that strength training can be helpful in our senior citizens from the "Strength Training May Give Boost to Seniors' Brains." Strength training has shown how people with depression could vitalize themselves into a better mental state through this article "Depression and anxiety: Exercise eases symptom". The key to this is to push away from messing your brain with a medication and allowing the body take care of itself.
